Three people have died and two remain missing in a series of drowning incidents across New South Wales beaches over two days. Sushan Khadka, a Nepalese student in his early 20s, disappeared at Coogee Beach after being caught in a rip with friends, while 45-year-old Sydney hairdresser Melissa Austin drowned at Dunbogan Beach on the mid-north coast while trying to help her son. Surf Life Saving NSW has conducted 110 rescues since Christmas Day, deploying extensive search resources including jet skis, boats, and divers.
