Sponsored by: Intuit | For many Americans, January is a time to reflect, reframe and reset, especially when it comes to health and finances. A new survey from Intuit shows that a growing number of Americans are rethinking
how they save, spend and plan for the year ahead. So what’s driving this shift and what should people be prioritizing right now? Intuit Financial Advocate Gigi Gonzalez joins our Laura Cavanaugh to share practical tips for building healthier money habits.
Intuit’s latest Financial Wellness survey shows that people are focused on improving their financial wellness going into 2026. Of the thousands that were surveyed, 93% of Americans plan to make changes to how they manage their money in 2026, while 54% say they have financial regrets from 2025 that they want to fix. The top financial resolutions of those surveyed were increasing savings, paying off debt and boosting their income.
Gonzalez, who is the author of Cultura & Cash, says the money routines that work are the ones that start small so you are able to stay consistent. Her top tips: make a money date with yourself, set up a weekly money check-in to review your expenses so your finances feel familiar and not stressful. She also recommends setting one money goal at a time and that your spending align with that goal.
Intuit can be a helpful part of your financial support system.
“They have the tools and the financial experts that can really help you feel more financially confident,” says Gonzalez.
