US President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House to push for continued diplomatic talks with Iran over its nuclear program.
They also issued a stark warning to Tehran about potential consequences if negotiations falter.
After the three-hour session, Trump took to Truth Social to say he insisted negotiations with Iran continue as the preferred path.
“There was nothing definitive reached other than I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether or not a deal can be consummated. If it can, I let the Prime Minister know that will be a preference,” Trump wrote.
“If it cannot, we will just have to see what the outcome will be… Last time Iran decided that they were better off not making a deal, and they were hit with Midnight Hammer — That did not work well for them.”
Netanyahu’s office said the leaders discussed not only Iran but also developments in Gaza and broader regional security.
