Trump Gives Xi Rare Welcome as US-China Trade Truce Is Extended

The US and China have sealed a two-month extension to their trade truce, as Xi Jinping landed in America for his first state visit in eleven years. Donald Trump became the first US president in six decades to receive a foreign counterpart at that airport, excluding visits by the Pope.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said his country won’t allow freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz while sanctions and a US blockade remain in place, underscoring the difficulty in reaching a peace deal with Washington despite efforts to revive talks this week.

Meta unveiled a palm-sized, dedicated gadget for using Muse, the company’s popular new artificial intelligence assistant, pushing deeper into the AI devices market with a surprise announcement.
