Trump intervening in Iran would cause ‘serious legitimacy issues’ for the country

Iranian and Middle Eastern Studies Center Director Sahar Razavi predicts “there would be serious legitimacy challenges” in Iran if US President Donald Trump were to intervene in the violent protests.
US president Donald Trump, for days, has been speaking about his options to stop the violence occurring in Iran.
“Though there are some people that would welcome such an intervention … Iranians know that if there were to be a perception that any kind of transitional leader were installed by the United States or Israel … I think Iranians know that would prepare some challenges for how legitimate that leader may appear to be in a post-Islamic republic world.”
