Trump says ‘last chance’ for Iran to deal, cargo ship hit in strait

President Donald Trump said he has no time constraints on talks, adding it was Tehran’s “last chance” to sign a deal. Iran has denied any current negotiations with the US, and a military adviser to the supreme leader has threatened American ships taking part in a blockade of Iranian ports.

Iran’s goal in current talks with Oman “is to set temporary arrangements” — lasting up to three months — where Tehran can control a route through the strait. A cargo vessel is reported to have lost power after being struck by an unknown projectile in the waterway early this morning local time.
