US attempting to ‘starve’ despotic nations of mineral commodities applicable to war

Geologist Ian Plimer says the US is attempting to “starve” despotic nations of mineral commodities that apply to running war operations.
“This is why the US for many years had a strategic stockpile of minerals that they don’t produce,” Mr Plimer told Sky News Senior Reporter Caroline Marcus.
“The US doesn’t have some minerals; it needs to have a strong military presence … the US is trying to secure these [elements] worldwide to make sure that those in the more despotic parts of the world … actually are starved of mineral commodities to be able to run a war.”
