JD Vance praised Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and the Trump administration for their efforts President Donald Trump’s election. Vance’s comments comes amid Army Secretary Dan Driscoll resignation to President Donald Trump and Senator Thom Tillis urging Trump to dismiss Hegseth from his cabinet post.

Vance went onto to suggest without evidence that the US has had a losing streak tied to wars it has fought during his lifetime.

"America has fought a lot of wars since I’ve been alive 42 years and we have won almost none of them until Donald J. Trump became the president of the United States," Vance said. "What does that say about the culture of military leadership, the way that we did planning? And what does it say, frankly, about the political leadership that we’ve had in the White House at the Department of War for 40 years of, frankly, military misadventures?"
