Dramatic bodycam footage reveals the moment a suspected shoplifter pulled a gun on a police officer inside a Walmart in Canton, Ohio.
The 21-year-old suspect, identified as Shane C.L. Newman, was being questioned in a loss-prevention office when he drew a firearm and aimed it at the officer at close range.
The weapon reportedly failed to fire.
A Walmart security guard and police officer rushed the suspect, tackling him to the ground before he was handcuffed and backup was called.
The suspect has been charged with attempted murder, felonious assault of a peace officer, and drug possession, according to local media.
