‘Worst possible outcome’: Heartbreaking update on 12yo attacked by shark

The family of a young boy, one of four mauled in a spate of horrific shark attacks across New South Wales, is preparing for the "worst possible outcome" as their child fights for his life in hospital.
On Sunday afternoon, the 12-year-old was attacked while jumping off rocks at Shark Beach, in Sydney’s east.
He suffered severe leg injuries and remains in critical condition at Sydney Children’s Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery.
Former prime minister Tony Abbott has called for the state government to start culling sharks.
All northern beaches will be closed today as part of a 48-hour ban.
