US stocks edged lower on Wednesday after Iran launched surprise attacks against the US, as investors counted down to the Federal Reserve’s policy decision and earnings from two big spenders on AI.
The S&P 500 (^GSPC) declined 0.2%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) also fell 0.2%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI), which includes fewer tech stocks, dropped 0.7% as oil prices rose amid renewed Middle East tensions.
