Protesters gather in Barcelona after the Spanish parliament 
rejected the government’s attempt to answer their ‌complaints about a mounting housing crisis and mass anger over the eviction of 87-year-old Maricarmen Abascal in Madrid.
 
The rejected housing bills contained a package of social and housing measures, including a ban on evictions of vulnerable tenants until 2030. Protesters said they would return to the streets across Spain and press on with their encampment in central Madrid.
