On Friday (08), at the 12th Criminal Court of Curitiba, serial killer José Thiago Soroka accused of robbing and killing homosexuals, in Curitiba and Santa Catarina, Brazil was sentenced to 104 years, four months and six days in prison for larceny, aggravated robbery and extortion.
José Thiago Soroka has been in prison since May 29, 2021. At the time, the police reported that he had confessed to three crimes he was suspected of, but were still investigating whether he had committed other murders.
The police managed to reach José Thiago Soroka from a victim who survived. The crime took place on May 11, 2021, in Bigorrilho.
Lawyers Piero Madalozzo and Rodrigo Riquelme Macedo, who defend José Thiago Soroka, said this Thursday (14) that they will appeal the decision, because they understand that the defendant should be tried for murder and not for robbery.
